By: Tagum City Information Office

CITY OF TAGUM, DAVAO DEL NORTE—Three individuals, including an alleged member of the Philippine National Police, were arrested by the Tagum City Police Office for carrying undocumented firearms in a dining restaurant here last January 6, 2013.
The three, which were arrested in violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulations Act, are Relix Niño Melloria of Maco, Compostela Valley, Leonilo delos Arcos and PO1 Rannel delos Arcos, both from Laak, Compostela Valley.
PO1 Arcos identified himself as a police officer assigned in Agusan del Sur Provincial Police Office.
Police Supt. Solomon de Castilla, PNP Tagum’s chief of police, said the three were arrested after they failed to present documents giving them authority to possess firearms that include 2 KG-9 machine pistols, .45 Remington pistol, several magazines and live ammos.
Cases have already been filed against the three who are now in custody of Tagum’s police force.
De Castilla said they were tipped by a concerned citizen who reported the presence of the three carrying undocumented firearms.
Meanwhile, Mayor Allan L. Rellon lauded the police force for the arrest of the three, saying this is another significant step towards achieving genuine peace and security for Tagum.
The local chief executive has been very vocal in his advocacy for peace and order as stipulated in its EAGLE WINGS Program. | Louie Lapat of CIO Tagum
