Water system benefits Panabo brgy

PANABO CITY,DAVAO DEL NORTE May 22 (PIA) – Residents of Purok 5, Barangay Manay in Panabo City are now enjoying clean drinking water after the turn over ceremony of “Banga Pinoy”, a water system project jointly implemented by Dole Philippines, Panabo Branch, Kasilak Foundation and the Barangay Local Government Unit on May 14, 2014

Panabo Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. duly represented by Joe Solicar and Vice Mayor James G. Gamao welcomed the project, noting that clean drinking water is very important in the community. They gave their thanks to Dole Philippines, Panabo Branch, Kasilak Foundation and the effort of Barangay Officials on their willingness for socio-economic development in the area.

The project aims to ensure a reliable supply of clean water among consumers. The company has sprovided the materials for the installation of the water system through its corporate social responsibility program. As counterpart, the barangay provided the lot where the water system was put up.

Dole Stanfilco Human Resource head Cesar Opeña was thankful that the project has been materialized through the partnership with the Brgy. Manay officials, Kasilak Foundation and DOLE STANFILCO. He said the company will continue to help the Panaboans not only in water projects but also education and livelihood.
Meanwhile, Barangay Captain Rolito Alcazarin also thanked the people behind “Banga Pinoy” especially “Tatay Tolindoy”, a resident of Purok 5 who donated an area for the installation of the water facility. He further stressed that constituents will not spend a lot of time fetching water from other purok because of lack of water facility, therefore urged them to give value on the sacrifices of the people who made the project possible.
“Kinahanglan namo ang inyong kooperasyon ug partisipasyon sa maong proyekto. Atong tagaan ug kabug-aton ang maong proyekto ug dili nato kalimtan ang atong obligasyon nga ampingan ang pasilidad nga gi hatag kanato,” Alcazarin furthermore stressed. (Mark Anthony G. Gellor-CIO Panabo City)
