DFA announces FSO examinations

DAVAO CITY- The Department of Foreign Affairs has announced the holding of the 20145 Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Examinations this coming August 10, 2014.

The FSO examinations aimst to recruit candidates for the appointment of Foreign Service Officer, Class IV.

Applicants should be Filipino Citizens, less than 36 years of age on the day of the CSO and they should have at least graduated from a four-year bachelor’s degree course. In addition applicants should also have undergone employment of have undertaken at least two years of further studies after graduating from college or university.

Application forms can be downloaded from www.dfa.gov.ph or may be personally secured from the DFA- Mindanao office at the third floor, SM City Davao. The duly accomplished application form should be submitted in person not later than June 13, 2014. With the following attachments:

Certified True Copy of transcript of records from college or university, bearing the seal of the college or university. Applicants who attended post-graduate studies shall submit a CTC of their transcript of records, in addition to their college or university records. Transcript of Records from a foreign school shall be certified as true copy by the foreign school with English translation and duly authenticated by a Philippine Foreign Service Post.  

Proof of past or present employment or further studies, Original Birth Certificate issued by the National Statistics Office. For a Philippine citizen with dual or multiple citizenships; a notarized affidavit sating that upon passing the examination, he/she intends to renounce his/her oath of allegiance to his/her other countries of citizenship; he/she must also submit a notarized affidavit stating that she is a permanent resident of the Philippines.

For those born abroad: Report of Birth duly authenticated by the Foreign Service post may also be submitted in case the original birth certificate may also be submitted in case the original birth certificate issued by the NSO is not available. A certification of non availability of birth certificate shall be submitted along with Report of Birth.

For married applicants: marriage contract issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO). If married to a foreigner, he/she must secure from the Secretary of Foreign Affairs through the Board of Foreign Service Examination authority to take the FSO Examinations.

Ten (10) pieces 4.5 cm. x 3.5 cm photograph; colored with white background taken within three montsh prior to filing of application; printed on good quality photo paper; in standard close-up shot; in bare face; showing the full frontal view of the applicant’s face; with applicant’s full and handwritten (not typewritten or computer-generated) name tag in the format- First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name and extension name (if any) and signature over printed name.

Two self-addressed and self-stamped envelopes marked as priority mail and two original valid identification cards and copy of each IDs.

A non-refundable admission fee of P500.00 (Five hundred pesos) shall be collected from those who shall take the August 2014 CSE-FSO only upon inspection and acceptance of the application.
