PANABO CITY, DAVAO DEL NORTE May 22 (PIA) - The Davao del Norte Provincial Council of Women Board of Directors gathered last May 16 Friday at the Panabo New City Hall’s Function room for their monthly meeting that had sports development as their main agenda.
According to the President of New Corella Council of Women Rhodora Alcoran, the board has initiated to organize a swimming competition as pre-training for women rescuers. “We were asked to submit 15 participants ages 18-25 to be trained by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office or PDRRMO,” added Alcoran. Furthermore, the women rescuers themselves will train the next batch of swimmers in preparation for natural and man-made disasters.
The Council of Women Board of Directors are setting their plans for this coming Araw ng Davao del Norte on July 1 and next year’s Women’s Month celebration on March. The next venue of their meeting will be at the Island Garden City of Samal on June. (Michael Angelo A. Resueño, CIO Panabo)
