DAVAO DEL NORTE, May 6 (PIA) - - - The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) based in Panabo City starts voters’ registration today for the May 2016 elections.

He added that Sundays have been included to cater those who are working.
He said that the first round of registration will end on June 30 this year, after which COMELEC will assess the registration turn-out, and then will resume it until October 31, 2015.
Tambuang urged applicants to bring proof of identity to be registered such as a photocopy of Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) authenticated birth certificate for new registrants and registrants with correction on their records; and government issued valid identification card for reactivation ansd validation.
He said that those who failed to vote for two consecutive elections must reactivate their registration because they had already been purged from the system.
Tambuang aims to increase the number of voters of the city to 120,000 from 93,600 as registered during the Barangay Election in October 2013.
To meet this, Tambuang said that his office office will conduct satellite registration in all the barangays of the city starting with Barangay New Visayas on May 11.
He added that he already informed the barangay captains during their meeting on the schedule of the satellite registration. (PIA 11, Michael Uy/jmda)
