PANABO CITY- The Panabo Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) led by City Fire Marshall Randulf Arbutante and partner volunteer fire-fighting groups joined in the launch of this year's Fire Prevention Month at the Panabo Fire Station last March 1.
The Fire Prevention Month heralds the theme "Makiisa, Makialam at Makipagtulungan Upang Sunog ay Maiwasan."
Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, who was invited as guest speaker in the opening of the Fire Prevention Month, is calling on all citizens, schools, and communities to be alert, vigilant, and cooperative to avert fires.
“We must consider that everyday must be fire prevention day and let us all do our share in fire prevention because as we do so, we make our own contribution to avoid destructive fire,” Mayor Silvosa said.
In collaboration with various government and private sector entities, several activities led by the Panabo BFP to heighten the public awareness and involvement to prevent unnecessary losses of property and lives due to fires.
Arbutante stressed that fire is worse catastrophe than any other disaster to strike, thus we need to be always ready to prevent it to happened.
“We must do our best to prevent fire and all should do their share by ensuring the safety not only property but also life “ Arbutante said.
To date Panabo BFP is stepping up its fire safety awareness campaign and visits schools and other community centers to demonstrate fire prevention and fire fighting techniques.
Other planned activities are as follows; March 5-9 Conduct of fire Drill and Symposium at selected schools; March 7 Poster Making High School & Elementary Level at Panabo City Fire Station; March 12-16 Conduct of Fire Safety Inspection to all Industrial establishments/building; March 24 5th Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. Inter-Volunteer Combat Challenge 2012 at City Tourism Ground and March 26-30 Conduct of fire safety inspection to all night spots and establishments.
