People’s Budget and the Open Budget Survey

The People’s Budget is one of the eight essential budget documents that must be made available to the public under the Open Budget Survey, which uses indicators to assess whether the government makes these documents available to the public in a timely manner and whether the data are comprehensive and useful

The Philippines scored 64 out of a possible 100 percent for transparency in the 2015 Open Budget Survey, a biennial survey and the world’s only independent and comparative measure of budget transparency.
“The Philippines’ score of 64 percent indicates that the government provides the public with substantial budget information,” said Capistrano. (pr/DBM)
