Davao City once again was recognized for its efforts to
continually improve the business environment as the leading destination for
ICT-BPM companies during the recent 2015-2016 Awarding Ceremonies on Center of
Excellence, Top Next Wave Cities, and Top 10 Emerging Next Wave Cities for
IT-BPM Operations held at Makati Shangrila Hotel, Manila.
Organized by the DOST-ICTO and IBPAP, Atty Samuel R. Matunog,
President of ICT Davao Inc., received the Center of Excellence for ICT-BPM
Operations Award on behalf of the Davao City Government from Commissioner
Monchito Ibrahim of DOST-ICTO and Dan Reyes, President of IBPAP.
In his statement, Atty. Matunog thanked all the stakeholders
for their hardwork and infectious enthusiasm in promoting Davao as a leading
ICT destination in the world.
Engr. Edwin O. Banquerigo, Assistant Regional Director, DTI
XI congratulated all the trustees of ICT Davao Inc. and champions such as
DOST, DOLE, Davao City Government, DCIPC. MinDA and the academe for this
outstanding achievement of Davao City.
Earlier, Davao City was ranked 66 out of the 100 outsourcing
destinations in the world by Tholons Survey, an improvement from its 69th
ranking in 2014.
On the other hand, as part of the One DTI Services Caravan, the
Department of Trade and Industry will host the ICT Industry Cluster Investment
Promotion and Networking Services on April 19, 2016 at the SMX Convention
Center, SM Lanang, Davao City.
The event aims to gather all ICT stakeholders in the region for
networking and business matching and to showcase cutting-edge ICT products and
services of local companies. Joining the event are executives from Experts
Global Services (EGS), and HPE who will give talk on the ICT outlook in the
Philippines.
Other activities during the One DTI Services Caravan slated on
April 19 to 21, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang, Davao City
include Presyo Diskwento, Consumer Forum, Fair Trade Law seminars, etc.
