Duterte warns cops against mulcting and bribery



DAVAO CITY, Aug 17 (PIA) Mayor Rodrigo Duterte justified the use of large identification cards by traffic enforcers to discourage mulcting activities involving violators of the Speed Ordinance.

Speaking in the public affairs program, “Gikan sa Masa para sa Masa,” he said that traffic personnel deputized to impose Executive Order No. 39 has to understand that he also listens to the complaints of the public regarding alleged mulcting activities.

Duterte reminded scalawags in uniform that extortion is just an underling of robbery.

He assured that they will be dismissed from the service once identified.

Duterte issued the warning particularly on the Traffic Management Office, Traffic Group of the local police,

Highway Patrol Group and the Land Transportation Office.

 “I will work on your dismissal from the service,” he stressed.
 He said traffic personnel receives the corresponding from the city government in the performance of their duty.
 Duterte urged the public to observe the traffic rules particularly the Speed Limit which he stressed will stay until his term ends.
 “There is no way that I will lift the 30, 40, 60 kilometer-per-hour speed limits, which assure us of safe highways, safe roads, so stick to this rule,” he said.
 Duterte also warned violators not to offer bribes or they will be arrested.  (PIA 11-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
