DAVAO DEL NORTE (PIA)--Davao del Norte can
now start the process of implementing projects funded under the Philippine
Rural Development Plan (PRDP), a scaled-up version of the Mindanao
Rural Development Program (MRDP) which is a countryside development program
with funding support from World Bank.
Department of Agriculture (DA) 11 Regional
Agriculture and Fisheries Info Section chief, Noel Provido said PRDP
Davao Regional Office recorded about P1.2 billion worth of project
proposals up for funding under PRDP.
Of the amount, Davao del Norte has about
P500 million worth of special projects with no letter of objections (NOL).
“NOL means that the (pieces of) document
submitted are okey to start procurement process particularly the bidding,” he
said in a message.
Among Davao del Norte’s PRDP special projects
with NOL is the rehabilitation of 10.6 kilometer-Capungagan Boundary-San
Miguel farm-to-market road (FMR)in Kapalong worth, P103,353,000;
rehabilitation of 8.93 km of Sto. Nino-Igangon FMR, P83,342,000; rehabilitation
of 12.63 km Esperanza-Pob. Sto. Tomas FMR, P117,477,000 and the rehab of
15.09 km Poblacion-Limbaan-Suawon-Macgum FMR with bridge, P187,493,00.
Information materials released by PRDP Davao
Regional Office describe it as a “six-year national government platform for
inclusive, value chain-oriented and climate-resilient agriculture and fisheries
sector”.
Set to be implemented under DA, PRDP projects
are jointly funded by the World Bank, the national government and local
