Compostela Valley, September 29, 2015 – Tourism is commonly defined as an activity
of travelling to a place for a pleasure. Thus, Compostela Valley Tourism,
towards its mission to develop local tourism as an attractive, viable and
profitable industry in the province outlined a Provincial Tourism Development
Plan for the years 2015-2019.
In connection with this, to foster potential tourist attractions,
ComVal Tourism has earmarked funds for Tourism Projects in 2015.
The projects are Road leading to Tagbibinta Waterfalls in
Maragusan worth Php. 80M funded by DOT-DPWH (Department of Toursim-Department
of Public Works and Highways); Road leading to Marangig Waterfalls in Maragusan
worth Php 40M, Road leading to Tadya Falls in New Bataan worth Php 80M, Road
leading to White Peak Php 30M, Concreting of Nabunturan Public Market worth Php
40M and Mabini Circumferential Road leading to Beach Centers Php 60M, all
funded by DOT; Camp Manuel Yan Development Phase 1 in Mawab worth Php 10M
funded by TIEZA; and, Tribal Museum and Hall at Capitol Ground, Nabunturan
worth Php 5M funded by DPWH and Congressman Zamora. Finally, P51M
worth of project for the Tadya Falls road concreting continuation.
These projects will open comfortable roads and accessible tourist
sites that will strengthen this year’s theme for World Tourism Day “One Billion
Tourists, One Billion Opportunities”. Thus, road for accessible tourism in
