3rd BOME to focus on 3 major crops

DAVAO DEL NORTE, September 21 (PIA) - - The 3rd Business Opportunity and Marketing Encounter (BOME) in Panabo City on October 26-29, 2015 will focus on three major crops – Cacao, Coconut and Cardaba banana.

City Councilor Renante Bangoy, chairperson on Committee on Agriculture, emphasized that the crops has a big potential for development in the city and in the province, as a whole.

Bangoy underscored that each of the crop will be featured on a separate day – Cacao on October 26, Coconut on October 27and Cardaba Banana on October 28.

“We concentrated on these crops because aside from Cavendish banana, these are the existing crops in the city that has a large market, which is not tapped by the farmers.”

He also revealed that October 29, the control and eradication of Fusarium Wilt will be discussed with the Department of Agriculture.

BOME Panabo is an investment forum cum business matching that seeks to link the city’s farmers directly to the investors or buyers of their product.

“For three years, we have connected the farmers directly to the buyers of their produce; this means larger income since they will no longer deal with middle persons,” Bangoy added. (pr)
