DAVAO CITY- The annual National Literacy Conference will be held this Sept. 18-19 at the Teachers’ Camp in Baguio City.
The event is organized by the Literacy Coordinating Council and will banner the theme “Literacy Towards Resilient Communities.
The conference aims to be a venue for the exchange of good practices and experiences on literacy programs relevant to climate change and disaster risk reduction.
It will also help heighten awareness and readiness in anticipating the risks brought about by climate change and armed conflicts and in managing the impacts of these risks and in rebuilding their communities.
Expected to attend are those coming from the Department of Education and government offices, private institutions and non-government organizations with programs and advocacies on literacy.
The presentation of the top five winners of the National Literacy Awards in the categories of the Outstanding Literacy Program and Outstanding Local Government Unit will also be held in the conference. (PIA/RG Alama)
