Agri TV show visits Comval

COMPOSTELA VALLEY PROVINCE, September 17, 2014--- Compostela Valley was one of the documentary shooting destinations tapped by the “Agri Tayo Dito” Program of ABS-CBN hosted by comedian Ruben Gonzaga.

Cited are the provincial government’s best practices on agriculture and its program interventions through the partnership of the Provincial Government and the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The team came on September 9, 2014 with their arranged routes by the Provincial Agriculturist’ Office (PAGRO) headed by Dr. Rolando Simene. 

According to Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Manolo Serafin Cayme, they will feature on their “Agri Bida” episode the ComVal’s pride on agriculture including the National Gawad Saka Nominee being the 2014 Gawad Saka Regional Awardee on High Value Commercial Crops (HVCC) Category in the person of Aristeo Limbaro in Maco.

They roamed around to take video footage of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish ponds, and other diversified crops with Mr. Limbaro’s farm.

They also went to the place of another National Nominee, Mr. Alvin Ignacio in Mawab, the 2014 Gawad Saka Regional Awardee on the Young Farmer Category. They will feature him on their “Itanim” series with his Cacao, Coffee, Rubber, and Fruits Nurseries.

Visiting the Capitol site was part of their destinations where they were warmly welcomed by Governor Arturo T. Uy together with the officials, department heads, and employees.  They’ve personally seen also the known Solidarity Ring of ComVal.

They further went  to Brgy. Linoan in Montevista and did an interview with MAFC Council Chair Condrado de la Cruz in tandem with Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Cayme for their “Tanong Mo, Sagot Ko” series featuring the distributed free Organic Fertilizer and rice seeds to farmers from DA.  (grace almedilla, ids-comval)
