DSWD holds forum for gov’t info officers

Davao City –Some 80 Information Officers from the local government units and national agencies will gather here Thursday, September 18 as the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reports its accomplishments and shares implementation status of its major programs and services.

Dubbed Partners’ Forum and Consultation, the event aims to 1) strengthen partnership with local government units and national line agencies relative to advocating development initiatives of the government sector; 2) generate support and commitment of Information Officers in communicating the challenges and gains of government social protection programs spearheaded by DSWD; and 3) intensify camaraderie and coordination among Government Information Officers in Region XI.

In partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), the activity will cover the Poverty Profile of Region XI based on the NSCB (National Statistical Coordination Board) and DSWD Listahanan assessment and the corresponding DSWD Response highlighting the Convergence Strategy, Pantawid Pamilya, Sustainable Livelihood, KALAHI CIDSS-National Community Driven Development Program, Social Pension, Supplementary Feeding, and the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Program (GPBP).

An orientation on the DSWD Kaya Ko Campaign will also be tackled to be followed by the signing of the Manifesto of Support. DSWD/Carmela C. Duron
