Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XI led byDIRECTOR III EMERSON R ROSALES conducted a buy-bust operation last August 14, 2012 at around 4:30 p.m. at Duha Village, Daliao, Toril, Davao City.
The suspect identified as Ian Homer Bariquit Y Ismael alias Ian, 22 years old, single with live-in partner and a resident of Duha Village, Daliao, Toril, Davao City was arrested after selling one (1) piece medium sized sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride otherwise known as “shabu”. Another fifteen (15) small sachets of suspected shabu one (1) piece one thousand peso (Php 1,000.00) buy-bust marked money with serial number EF181419 boodle money were also recovered from his possession and control.
The suspect is detained at Davao City Police Office detention facility. The seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to Philippine National Police Regional Crime Laboratory, Ecoland, Davao City for laboratory examination. Cases for violation ofSection 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” are being filed against the suspect.
UNDERSECRETARY JOSE S GUTIERREZ JR., Director General, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency stressed out that the collaborative effort of PDEA Regional Office XI, Police Regional Office XI and the community was the key in the successful apprehension of all drug perpetrators operating in the Region. They will not put to justice, if it is not for the people’s continued vigilance and cooperation. These are positive indicators that they are actively participating in our anti-drug campaign.
