Marijuana plantation seized in Sultan Kudarat


CAMP PANACAN, Davao City, Apr. 20 – Army troopers of 27th Infantry Battalion seized a marijuana plantation in Sitio Ubon, Brgy. Makat, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.

27th IB disclosed that the plantation was discovered at 5:30 this morning while the troops were on security patrol. Initial investigation revealed that the property was owned allegedly by Gipay Dalumatan and his son, Primi Dalumatan, residing at barangay proper four kilometers away from the said plantation.

More or less 30 fully-grown marijuana hills were uprooted and were immediately brought to PNP Columbio for proper disposition and further investigation. According to 27th IB Commander Lt. Col. Alexis Noel Bravo, the raiders were from the Peace and Development Team of Alpha Company led by 2Lt. Jayson Ramos.

Bravo added that coordination had already been made with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XII (PDEA XII) for proper reports and documentation of the incident. “We are doing everything we can, in coordination with the PNP, to stop the proliferation of marijuana in our area of responsibility,” he said.
