DAVAO
CITY, July 3 (PIA) – The provincial local government of Davao del Sur is set to
implement various infrastructure projects worth P141.5 million starting second
semester this year.
Governor
Claude Bautista said the projects have already undergone the process of bidding
as of June 2015, and ready for implementation.
The
governor announced this during the culmination program of the 48th
Founding Anniversary of Davao del Sur on July 1 staged at the province’s
Coliseum in Digos City where all local chief executives of Davao del Sur and
Davao Occidental gathered together.
Bautista
said Digos City and all municipalities of Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental
will benefit from the projects.
From
the total funding, Davao del Sur gets the share of P94.9 million for Digos City
and the towns of Bansalan, Hagonoy, Kiblawan, Magsaysay, Malalag, Matanao,
Padada, Sta. Cruz and Sulop.
For
the town of Bansalan, a total of P12 million is allocated to fund
farm-to-market roads, mini hospital, rehabilitation of barangay halls, and
construction of gymnasium and river control structure.
The
residents of Digos City will benefit from the P15 million worth of projects
such as culvert, farm to market road, gymnasiums, drainage canal and two-storey
barangay hall for Tres de Mayo.
The
town of Hagonoy has a total project funding of P11.5 million to cover day care
center and perimeter school fence, health center, mini-hospital, barangay halls
and gymnasiums.
The
municipality of Magsaysay gets mini-hospital and gymnasium projects worth P4
million, while Malalag has P2.5 million for a mini-hospital project.
In
Padada, the projects to poured in include health center, mini-hospital,
concreting of farm to market road and gymnasium which have a total funding of
P13 million.
For
Matanao, two mini hospitals, health center, day care center and gymnasium
costing P7.9 million are also in place for implementation.
A
total budget of P11.5 million is allocated to Sta. Cruz town for the
construction of three two-storey barangay halls and mini hospital, while
Kiblawan gets P7 million funding for two two-storey barangay halls.
Sulop
is given the allocation of P3.5 million for a multi-purpose building,
completion of barangay hall and gymnasium.
Meanwhile,
Davao Occidental province takes the portion of P46.6 million which covers the
municipalities of Sta. Maria, Malita, Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos and
Sarangani.
The
biggest chunk of P28.7 million to the province’s capital town of Malita for
various projects which comprise of a mini hospital, gymnasiums, day care
centers, barangay halls, and health center.
A
two-storey barangay hall amounting to P3.5 million will soon be put up in
Barangay Kinaga in Don Marcelino, while the island town of Sarangani is given
P2.5 million share for construction of a gymnasium.
The
residents of Jose Abad Santos will soon benefit from day care centers and
gymnasiums which have a total share of P11.9 million.
In
Sta. Maria town, a P10.5 million worth of projects which include two mini
hospitals and two gymnasiums will be poured in.
Bautista
said the provincial LGU continues its efforts to implement infrastructure
projects in all areas in Davao del Sur as well as Davao Occidental which is
still under his administration until a new set of officers will be elected in
