KABISIG PHIL. GOV’T EXPO ON SEPT. 1 – 4 AT ABREEZA MALL

The “Kabisig  Phil. Gov’t Expo and Trade Fair 2014 “ for  Region XI will be held on September 1-4, 2014 at Abreeza Mall , an event  which will mark the start of the Philippine Civil Service month celebration.

The project is supported by the Office of the President in coordination with the Presidential Communication Operation Office with the Philippine Information Agency XI and ARENA XI as its cooperating partners. Earlier, the first expo  held  for the year was at   SM  City Fairview in Quezon City.(June 16-20, 2014).The project is a one-stop exhibit of the services and accomplishments of government agencies and instrumentalities including  government owned and- controlled corporation(GOCCs) .

The Kabisig program was created  by virtue of a Presidential Proclamation No. 650 in 1990 during  the term of the late President Cory Aquino.. Its mandate  was “to facilitate, coordinate and monitor  the implementation of government programs and projects, It also provides linkages between and among  the private sector groups and  government agencies and instrumentalities.”

Kabisig Chairman Daniel Guillen explains that the information exhibit and trade fair will help the public know the good news about government not usually publicized in media . He said that sometimes, the public reads about a  government agency  exist only when  an anomaly is discovered or when its officials are linked to graft and corruption.

In his previous message to Kabisig,  President Aquino thanked  Kabisig organizers “ for being a key partner in our great task of nation-building through the years, beginning with its organization during the administration of my late mother” He added that he trusts Kabisig to  “ continue to play the vital role of linking us with the people as we institute much needed reforms and reorient the bureaucracy toward ideals of integrity, competence, and performance.”

In support of the Kabisig project, President Aquino has issued another Memorandum Circular No 62 “ directing and authorizing all government departments and attached agencies and instrumentalities including GOCCs to extend support and participation to the exhibits

The other  expo  scheduled for this year will be on September 30- October 3, 2014  at SM Lipa City, Oct 6-9, 2014 at SM Fairview ( Part 2)  and  October 28-31, 2014 at SM Clark, Angeles City. President Aquino has been invited and  is expected to  visit   any of the scheduled expo.
