DAVAO CITY, Nov 13 (PIA) The Archdiocese of Davao has joined calls for help for the victims of typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas areas.
Monsignor Romulo Valles, DD, Archbishop of Davao in a letter to the clergy and the Catholic faithful appealed for more help to ease the sufferings and pains of the people in the typhoon-ravaged areas.
He said the campaign dubbed as Oplan Tabang BagYo will run until November 24.
“This is an urgent appeal! Let us show our compassion and love,” Valles said.
He said the affected population needs rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee, milk, sugar, cereals, salt, bottled water, medicines, flashlights, trapal, mats and blankets, towels, bath soap and laundry soap.
Valles said the help may be sent to the GSIS Matina Gym beside the Ascension of the Lord Parish Church or to the various parishes in the city.
He said donations for Oplan Tabang BagYo maybe sent personally to the Finance Office of the Archbishop’s Residence at 247 Florentino Torres Street or maybe deposited to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Davao account with number 2700245918 at the BDO C.M. Recto Branch. (PIA 11-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
