DILG to enforce strict gun ban policy in ARMM

DAVAO CITY,  June 20 (PIA):  Department of Interior and Local Government  (DILG) Sec. Jesse Robredo announced  this morning the strict implementation of gun ban policy during the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Convention on Local Governance held in Davao City.

Robredo grants no exemption to such policy and that he  warns those who would be caught  violating it to refrain from asking authorities in government for favor  of being freed from liabilities as this would mean expulsion removal from service.

“Ang pinapakiusapan ay matatanggal.  Maawa po kayo sa pinapakiusapan ninyo,” (Those whom you are dealing they would be removed, take a pity on them) he told the convention participants who were officials and civic leaders of ARMM.

The implementation of strict gun ban in ARMM is in line with the holding of a general registration of voters that has been set from July 9 to July 18 this year.

Robredo appeals to ARMM constituents to  unite behind the  crusade of the national government establish a  clean and orderly registration which he cites as a factor “to set the tone of the election in ARMM.

He believes that the ARMM elections would only be clean and orderly, as well, through a credible registration of voters.
Robredo sees a  lot of things to be change in ARMM local governance but he said the change has to  start with changing the  local leadership.   (PIA-11/Jeanevive Duron-Abangan)
