DavOr DAR installs water system in San Isidro

DAVAO ORIENTAL, June 3 (PIA) - - - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of Davao Oriental installed a potable water system level II to an agrarian reform community (ARC) in the municipality of San Isidro.

Through the Foreign Assisted Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project, DAR turned over recently 57 taps stands to La Union, Cambaleon, Bitaogan, Talisay Agrarian Reform Community (LACAMBITA ARC) in San Isidro.

Elisa Dacula, information officer of DAR, said in an interview that the water system was requested by the community since they were getting potable water at the poblacion, which is around 5-6 kilometers from their place.

Dacula stated in her report that a total of 342 households will benefit the water system with a project cost of P 9.8M.

To sustain the water system, the Talisay Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Farmers Association (TARBENFA) was assigned to monitor the maintenance of the project.

Andrew Salvaña, provincial agrarian reform program officer I, urged the community to take part in maintaining the facility since they are among the blessed community to have been a recipient of a water system project.

Aside from the water system, the ARC was also a recipient of farm to market roads, bridges and irrigation on the same foreign assisted program. (PIA 11, Michael Uy)
