Outreach activities marks JCI week



DAVAO CITY April 11 (PIA)- A series of outreach activities conducted by the different Junior Chamber International (JCI) chapter in Davao will be held this April 10 to 16 as part of the JCI Week.

During a press conference held at the White House Fusion Cuisine Restaurant in Davao City early this morning (April 11) the five JCI chapter presidents outlined their respective activities. There are 10 JCI chapters in Davao which will also be conducting their projects on the week.

JCI Duwaling will have Book Bed project which is a form of book giving where the beneficiaries are children. The chosen community is in St. Jude Elementary School in Buhangin, Davao City where the school library was razed by fire.

JCI Dabawenya will have a coastal clean up and mangrove planting on April 13. The mangrove planting will be held in Samal Island’s Sanipaan Shoal or popularly known as Vanishing Island.

The Kadayawan Chapter will have a personalized course on public speaking with Jose Mari Benedicto, World Speaking Champion in 2009. It will be held on April 12.

JCI Davao will conduct a Business Seminar on April 13 with topics on distribution and Information Technology.

The seminar would cater to entrepreneurs and is  a step in promoting decent work and economic growth in Mindanao On April 1 JCI Davao will conduct a Business Seminar on April 13 with topics on distribution and Information Technology.

The seminar would cater to entrepreneurs and is  a step in promoting decent work and economic growth in Mindanao On April 14 JCI will be holding a nationwide project, “Beyond the Prison Wall.” Which according to JCI Kadayawan president Cathy Binag is bigger than the previous stagings of the event.

It aims to help and assist the inmates of the Ray of Hope the women facility of the Davao City Jail.

Binag says there will be legal assistance and legal forum manned by six lawyers, medical outreach where ophthalmology, dental and general medicine services are given. Religious services are also present for Catholic, Moslem and Christian inmates. Popular social media comedians Digos Good Vibes will be there to provide entertainment. Inspirational books will be distributed.
