- Panabo City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) hailed recently as the
best in its field among five component cities in Region XI.
Awarded during the Year End Performance
Assessment of the Department of Labor and Employment Region XI at Big 8
Corporate Hotel on January 12, Panabo City PESO hauled five major awards
including the best PESO component city category.
Panabo PESO also grabbed awards for being the
top performer in the implementation of Special Program for the Employment of
Students (SPES), Pre Employment Seminar for Local Applicants (PESLA), Special
Recruitment Activities (SRA), and National Skills Registry Program (NSRP).
Cherelle Espinosa, Panabo PESO Manager, stressed
that the awards were not expected as their office was just doing their jobs.
Espinosa emphasized that the awards were
attributed to the diligence of her staff and the support of the local
government unit.
She pointed out that among the many advantages
the city have was the public and private sectors’ participation in the SPES, in
which nine companies including the local government unit.
Espinosa added that among the component cities,
Panabo PESO has a regular was the only one who conducts PESLA twice a week.
Panabo PESO will be the region’s representative
for National Best Component City PESO competition this year. (PIA 11, Michael
