The Special CAFGU Active Auxiliary (SCAA) training is being conducted by the 72nd IB under Commander Ltc. Leonardo F. Solomon and Task Force Samal under the 1003rd Brigade Deputy Commander Col. Ricardo A. Nepomuceno.
To be qualified to the training, the trainee must be physically fit, no barangay and police record of criminal offense and must be a resident of Island Garden City of Samal.
“This is our second batch of Special CAFGU Active Auxiliary (SCAA) training intended to augment existing military forces in the island city and in order to counteract acts of terrorism thereby ensure public safety and security and other forms of threats”, City Mayor Aniano P. Antalan said.
Antalan emphasized his priority concern to peace and order and the need to organized the SCAA or Task Group Samal to assist the Philippine National Police in ensuring safety and security of lives and property in the island especially now that more domestic and foreign tourists come to the island known as one of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines, Asia and even in the world.
The surviving SCAA trainee and graduates will be deployed in the three (3) Task Force Samal detachment in Kaputian Poblacion of Kaputian District, Barangay Kinawitnon and Barangay Balet of Babak District.
The SCAA Development Program was initiated by city government of IGaCoS through City Mayor Aniano P. Antalan purposely to secure and maintain peace and order and public safety of the constituents and tourists coming in the island.
