Governor Uy was amazed with the attendance of the RSPC, and thanked the DepEd for making Compostela Valley as the venue for the RSPC.

"Being there and being accurate are how journalistic credibility is brought to the social media sphere. While it is necessary that there will always be a need for reliable verification, what must be better understood is how people seek out news and information and how they learn through their use of social media. The question worth asking is where journalism fits this fast emerging and ever changing social media and digital system," he said.

Uy said that with the RSPC, the students are trained in journalism and are provided with an avenue to practice the truth, fairness, and balance, which he thinks, are values taught better by experience and supplemented by the classroom.

After his message he rendered a love song dedicated to the participants and the different delegations in time for Valentine’s Day. (Rey M. Antibo/IDS ComVal)
