DTI holds PhilNITS FE certification training

The Department of Trade and Industry- Davao City Field Office (DTI-DCFO), in partnership with the Philippine National IT Standards (PhilNITS) Foundation, Inc., will hold a free PhilNITS FE Training and Review on April 11, 18 and 25 and May 2 and 9.

The said training will be held at PhilNITS Training Room, 5th Floor, Mintrade Building, Monteverde-Sales Streets, Davao City, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is in preparation for the upcoming PhilNITS’ Fundamental Information Technology Engineers (FE) Certification Exam slated on May 10, 2015 in Davao City.

 The PhilNITS FE Certification exam is intended to individuals who have basic fundamental knowledge and skills required to be an advanced IT human resource, and who possess practical utilization abilities. Defined as human resources with basic knowledge and skills who are able to perform tasks with a certain degree of difficulty or part of the required tasks on their own.

The PhilNITS Foundation, formerly known as the JITSE Phil Foundation Inc., is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization that is implementing a Certification Program from the Japan Information Technology Engineers Examination Center (JITEC) of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan.

 The Japanese government, in coordination with the  Department of Trade and Industry has implemented the JITSE examination, as a viable and credible measure of IT skills to ASEAN IT professionals. The JITSE Examination, a certification program for IT practitioners aims to give Filipinos an advantage when seeking work especially in Japanese BPO companies, both here and abroad.

 In Davao City, around 100 IT professionals passed the examinations and now employed in several Japanese BPO companies such as Data Horizon Philipines Inc., Advanced World Systems, NEC, Alliance Sofware, Inc., among others.

 Interested software companies may send in their programmers or engineers to the said training program.
