TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, Oct 15 (PIA) Mayor Allan Rellon of
Tagum City has ordered the law enforcement authorities to arrest the
primary suspect in the killing of broadcaster Rogelio Butalid for him to
shed light on the incident.
He said Wrenters Azarcon alias Ren-ren must see a day in court and
explain the extent of the possible collusion to the killing of the
broadcaster in December 2013.
Rellon revealed the wife of Butalid filed a complaint of murder
against Azarcon based on the testimony of lone witness who came out in
the open and identified the suspect.
A gunman opened fire on Butalid who was about to start his motorcycle
after handling a radio program at the Radyo Natin FM, along Sobrecarey
Street in December, 2013.
Judge Virginia Tehano-Ang of the Branch 1 of the Regional Trial Court
11 issued the warrant of arrest of Azarcon for murder last September
10, 2014.
Rellon said the suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.
“Azarcon can surely shed light on the incident if he is arrested
alive, a big challenge I give to the authorities,” he said. (PIA 11-Joey
