TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, Sept 17 (PIA)---Semi 4-star posh hotel here has opened up doors to tie up with organizations for staff development and for public affairs ventures.
Big 8 Corporate Hotel located along the national highway in Visayan Village, Tagum City recently agreed to host the regular meeting of Palm City Toastmasters Club every second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
In return, the Palm City Toastmasters (TM) Club committed to conduct a speech and oral communications training cum workshop for the management staff of Big 8 Corporate Hotel.
Their tie-up made way for the training orientation and the first TM meeting hosting on September 09, 2014.
Palm City Toastmasters Club concurrent president, Dr. Evelia Sator revealed the topics of the training modules designed for Big 8 staff Speech and Communications Training as the following “ Oral and Speech Communication”, “The Difference Between Hosting and Emceeing”, “The Personality and Character of an Effective Host/ Toastmaster”, “ Speaking Protocols and Decorum”, “Do’s and Don’t’s in Hosting”.
The Club will also tackle “How to Introduce a Speaker”, “Opening and Closing Remarks”, “Your Body Language Speaks”, “How to Control Your Fear”, and “The Entertaining Host”.
This tie-up between Big 8 Corporate Hotel and the Palm City Toastmasters Club happened under the Club’s new set of officers elected this administrative year 2014 to 2015 with Dr. Sator as the president; Cenen Teresita Banal, vice president for education; Cyril Leonard Muring, VP for Membership; Jeanevive Duron-Abangan, VP for Public Relations; Melissa Pinpin, secretary; Atty. Ma. Lina Baura, treasurer.
On the other hand, Big 8 Corporate Hotel hits one year this month in hosting the Tagum Biz Talk At Big 8 which is a monthly media forum organized by the Hotel management, the City Government of Tagum and the Philippine Information Agency XI.
Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon, Big 8 General Manager Roxan Obregon and PIA Regional Director Efren F. Elbanbuena signed the memorandum of agreement (MOU) on September 10, 2013 to regularly hold Tagum Biz Talk at Big 8 every second Tuesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The organizers have designed the media forum to drum up public discussion on business, economics and on tourism updates in the provinces of Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental.
They also consider the Biz Talk as a strategic forum of discussing issues and concerns on such focused sectors considering Tagum City’s location at the center of the economically fast-rising DavComval (Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Compostela) block of provinces.
