PANABO CITY, Davao del
Norte, Oct. 7 - The city government of Panabo led the Pet Day
Care Day through the City Agriculturist Office (CAGRO) last
September 26, 2014 at ARF Gym, Barangay New Pandan.
The activity was held
in line with the World Rabies Day (WRD) celebration during which Panaboans were
encouraged to register their dogs and other pets for anti-rabies vaccination.
City Veterinarian Dr.
John Ray A. Bautista said that his office staged a film showing on Human
Rabies Prevention and Treatment Program to inform public regarding the effects
of rabies and to help those infected by it.
As of that day, the
City Government provided a total of 420 services on pet care;
41 dogs and 6 cats underwent neutering or castration through Oplan Kapon;
335 dogs and 6 cats received anti rabies vaccination; and 303
animal health care services rendered such as deworming, vitamins
supplementation, check up and treatment, and other basic treatment.
CAGRO, headed by
Alejandro R. Mayato continued to deliver its services intended to intensify
anti-rabies vaccination under its livestock services.
Among the services
were Animal Health services, Rabbies vaccination, City Pound and Trainings and
