LGU Tagum tackles 2015 budget, income estimates

By: Tagum City Information Office

DAVAO CITY—The City Government of Tagum’s tedious budget preparation for next year officially started as its top leaders in the executive and legislative departments recently converged in Marco Polo Hotel for its annual Budget Planning on Income Estimates for Budget Year 2015.

Mayor Allan L. Rellon led the team composed of Vice Mayor Geterito T. Gementiza, city councilors and heads of revenue-generating offices who worked hand-in-hand in projecting revenues of the local government.

Among these are the incomes from local taxes, permits and licenses, service income and from the economic enterprises.

Mayor Rellon said this is important since these projected funds that will be collected by the local government will be essential for the implementation of pro-people programs and projects as aligned in his EAGLE WINGS Program.

The latter is a ten-point development agenda of the Rellon administration that specifically sets focus on education, culture, employment, agriculture and fisheries, genuine peace, safety and security, livelihood and tourism development, economy and sound taxation, wellness, infrastructure and communication development, NGO empowerment, good governance and social services.

Among the presenters during the said budget planning are City Treasurer Edgar de Guzman, Acting City Budget Officer Fe Inutan and OIC-City Economic Enterprises Manager Grace D. Terante.

Also in attendance was Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants-Davao del Norte and Comval Chapter President Maricar Momo who represented the private sector, following the LGU’s commitment to a transparent and participatory governance.

The said planning was organized by the City Budget Office as one of the early stages of the long and tedious preparation for the budget of the City Government of Tagum for 2015. | Louie Lapat of CIO Tagum
