DAVAO CITY – Lawyer Domingo “Doming” Duerme and resort owner Elizabeth Dureza will be launching their first-ever back-to-back visual art exhibit on August 17 to 19 during the Mindanao Travel and Trade Expo (MinTTE) at The Atrium Annex of SM City Davao.
“Both of them are from the tourism industry also,” said Charito Aranda, president of the organizing Dabaw Tourism Operators Association (Dabtoa), an association of tourism stakeholders, partners and suppliers in Davao Region.
Duerme is the senior assistant vice-president of the Philippine Airlines and many times chairman of the PAL Inter-Club Golf Championship..
Dureza, on the other hand, is the owner of the Seagull Resorts and wife of former Presidential Assistant for Mindanao Jesus. She is also a member of the Dabtoa Board of Directors. Renowned artist Victor Secuya will be the art curator.
The art exhibit is one of the highlights of the 3-day expo endorsed and supported by the City Government of Davao and the Department of Tourism Region 11.
Cebu Pacific Air is the presentor while the Philippine Long Distance and Telephone Company is the co-presentor.
This annual event in Mindanao espouses the theme “Choose Philippines: Affirming the Wonders of Culturally-diverse Mindanao.” It will be held in celebration also of the 28thKadayawan sa Dabaw Festival.
This will be participated in by the diverse key players in the tourism-travel-trade related industries from all over the country and some selected international guest exhibitors.
MinTEE is designed to affirm the irreversible role of responsible tourism in realizing sustainable peace and development, a number of DOT regional offices are likewise participating.
