STA. CRUZ, Davao del Sur, June 19 (PIA) – Mayor Joel Ray L. Lopez signed on Monday (June 15) Executive Order No. 09 creating and organizing the local government unit’s Gender and Development Focal Point System.
This is pursuant to Republic Act 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women to align efforts of the local government and the national government of Gender and Development and the commitments to international declarations.
On June 17-19, the LGU has convened its local leaders and heads of offices for a three-day GAD Planning and Budgeting for 2016. GAD program has a 5% budget allocation to the LGU’s overall annual appropriation.
The Order is also pursuant to Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2013-01 of the Philippine Commission on Women, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Budget and Management and National Economic Development Authority to all LGUs. (CDIO-XI/Julius R. Paner)
