DAVAO DEL NORTE, November 11 (PIA) - - A local
rotary club in Panabo City conducted recently a Job Fair at the Grand Gaisano
Mall of Panabo.
Around 300 job seekers flocked the activity
center of the local mall in the city hopeful to land any of the 10,000 vacant
positions posted in the Job Fair organized by the Rotary Club of Central
Panabo.
Kadelle Pidor, president of RCCP, stressed
that as part of the community development program, the club gave an opportunity
for Panaboans and its neighbours to meet the various companies in a venue
complimenting that of the government’s regular projects.
“We add one more job fair in the city since
there are still so many unemployed individuals in the city and hopefully,
through this, they can land a job and improve their quality of life,” Pidor
said.
The job fair was a collaboration project of
the rotary club with the mall management, City Government of Panabo through the
Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Panabo, and the Department of Labor
and Employment (DOLE).
During the fair, 34 applicants were hired on
the spot including two individuals landed in overseas jobs as cleaner and
saleslady.
According to the report of the PESO, most of
the locally hired applicants were employed in the call centers and there are
still 80 individuals for further interview. (PIA 11, Michael Uy)
