COMPOSTELA VALLEY PROVINCE, Ocotber 30, 2013 (PIA)-----The local government of Compostela Valley Province awarded the five (5) provincial winners of “Gawad Saka 2012-2013” for their Outstanding Performance and Contribution to Agriculture and Fish Production Development of the province.
They are: Mr. Vicente P. Gualberto of Brgy. New Albay, Maragusan as the Most Outstanding High Value Commercial Crops (HVCC) Farmer of Vegetable Category; Mr. Manuel V. Ocampo of Brgy. Linda, Nabunturan as Most Outstanding Coconut Farmer and; Mr. Leo A. Aposacas of Brgy. Libasan, Nabunturan as Most Outstanding Fish Farmer (Fish Culture Category).
Other awards are Most Outstanding Rural Improvement Club (RIC) given to Mapawa RIC of Brgy. Mapawa, Maragusan, and Most Outstanding Small Farmer’s Organization awarded to NARCICO or Nabunturan Agrarian Reform Community Integrated Cooperative.
The ceremonial awarding was held last October 21, 2013 at the Capitol Lobby during the employee’s convocation program. Representing Governor Arturo T. Uy to hand the Plaques and Cash Prizes to the winners were Provincial Administrator Virgilia S. Allones, Executive Assistant IV Isabelo L. Melendres, and Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Rolando Simene.
